Trimble Access cloud security update - Action required before August 31st 2021

Customers transferring data through the Connect cloud with Trimble® AccessSync in Trimble Access™ software version 2017.x will need to follow a new, browser-based account federation process, to link their AccessSync and Trimble Identity logins together.

Why is this important?

Trimble Identity (TID) is a common login method used across many Trimble products and services. Trimble Access leverages TID to enable integrated cloud data transfer. To ensure continued secure cloud connection for Trimble Access, TID needs to be updated to the latest security standards.

The latest updates for Trimble Identity provide multiple security enhancements. These updates are not supported by the Windows Embedded HandHeld operating system. To continue using the Connect cloud, and to benefit from these security enhancements, customers need to follow the steps below to create a link between their Trimble AccessSync and Trimble Identity logins.

Trimble Access customers can continue to use Trimble Access 2017.x, but will not be able to use Trimble AccessSync cloud transfer capabilities without taking action.

Trimble aims to keep our customers data and personal information secure. In a connected world, customers should stay on the most recent Trimble Access release to avoid potential loss of cloud services.

All customers using Trimble Access cloud data workflows are entitled to upgrade to the latest release of Trimble Access as part of their paid Trimble Protection Plan. A valid Trimble Protection Plan also entitles the customer to relinquish the Trimble Access license from supported devices and transfer it to a new device (Trimble Geo and Trimble CU excluded).

All customers with a valid Trimble Access subscription license are entitled to upgrade to the latest release of Trimble Access.

Browser based account federation

NOTE: The Account federation steps must be completed on a modern operating system and browser. They cannot be completed on a Windows Embedded Handheld Device.

To continue to use AccessSync after August 31, 2021 each customer logging into AccessSync must follow these steps:

1. Navigate to https://accesssyncpreauth.t-iserv.com/ and follow the site to completion.

2. Select Sign In.

3. Enter your Trimble Identity email address.

This is the username that you are currently using with AccessSync.

4. Click Next.

5. Enter your password.

This is the password that you are currently using with AccessSync. Moving forwards this is explicitly your Trimble Identity.

6. Click Sign In.

7. Verify that you are logged in as the correct user.

8. Enter a password to use with AccessSync.

NOTE: For improved security, Trimble recommends that this is different to your Trimble Identity password.

9. Click Register.

You can now sign in to AccessSync on the controller using the username and AccessSync password you just entered.

This federation step should be a one time only requirement. However if you are unable to sign in to AccessSync or have changed your Trimble Identity password please return and repeat.

Note: For users that have dependencies on Trimble Access apps that are not currently compatible with the latest TA version, customers can remain on the current version but will not be able to use Trimble AccessSync. Trimble ConnectSync can be used for cloud transfer on Windows® 10 devices.
